BGC Battle On The Bay BBQ Cook Off May 13-14
(Rockport-Fulton, TX) The Boys & Girls Club BBQ Cook Off May 13-14 will be the event to position the organization to be able to open a Boys and Girls Club in Aransas County! The event will be held at the Festival Grounds at Rockport Harbor with more than 40 barbecue teams participating, live entertainment, delicious food, kids activities and so much more.
The mission for the Boys & Girls Club of Aransas County is to provide an affordable place where the youth can have a safe haven after school and on weekends rather than running the streets or being stuck at home with no kind of outlet
“It’s all about our kids, we believe every child has what it takes to reach their full potential” said Veronica Medina, the event organizer.
This weekend of giving, this year’s event will feature live music, auctions, vendors and a great barbecue cook off! Enjoy Matt Mercado and the Cover Tones on Friday night and Five Card Draw and more on Saturday. There will be a Kids Zone Tent with face painting, photo booth and boat races.
The Greet the Cooks time is 2 p.m. on Saturday with the Head Cooks meeting at 7 p.m. that evening. Chef’s Choice will be at 8:30 p.m. More than 40 barbecue teams from the region and beyond will be here to compete. Last year, there were 54 competitors.
