Aransas County Mosquito Control has begun its abatement efforts and will continue in the weeks to come. Mosquito larvacide (dunks) are available for pick up at Aransas County Environmental Health M-F 8am-12 and 1-5pm.
Prevention:
• Wear EPA registered insect repellents. When used as directed, these insect repellents — including those that contain DEET — are proven safe and effective even for pregnant and breastfeeding women.
• Cover up with long-sleeved shirts and long pants.
• Keep mosquitoes out with air conditioning or intact window screens.
• Limit outdoor activities during peak mosquito times (dusk and dawn).
• Drain containers that have standing water to eliminate breeding sites.
